Tips When Traveling During Rainy Weather

Traveling in rainy weather means traveling off season, which converts to saved dollars and loads of fun in un-crowded locales. Traveling in the rainy weather has its own charm and while on vacation, it’s always fine to get wet. However, there are a few do’s and don’ts that could be considered for a great vacation in the rain.

Traveling in Rainy Weather Do’s:
- This is a time of the year when you should stick to bottled water, especially if you are traveling overseas. You certainly don’t want to deal with upset tummies or a virus, do you?
- Carry light clothing, but more in number. Regular change times are bound to be on the itenerary.
- It is a good idea to consult the doctor and carry along medication in excess, especially in the case of children or elders who are asthmatic, or have allergy problems that can get aggravated in wet weather conditions.
- If you are going to some beautiful tropical or sub-tropical climate, remember to take along a functional backpack that is big enough for the camera, a single change and some light snacks. This knapsack will come in handy when you follow that heady feeling of exploring the green wild, while sight seeing.

Traveling in Rainy Weather Don’ts:
- Avoid heavy cotton clothes or denim clothes. They absorb moisture and don’t dry very easy. Also, not picking such clothes saves you extra pounds. Carry very functional clothes, light and wash-and-wear. Spend a few dollars and get some thin liner socks and tropical expedition socks. They will kepp your feet dry even in moist environments.
- Places with the tropical or sub tropical rains are also prone to mosquitoes and can be dusty. Don’t ignore the importance of packing protective cream, as well as anti-allergy medication.
- Do not ignore the rain-packages put together by hotels to lure the odd off-season traveler. These bed and breakfast packages enable you to save now, for shopping later!
- Don’t forget to keep a knapsack ready and close at hand when you are on a holiday in the rainy weather. There are chances of lay-overs and detours and the goodies thrown in like some magazines and snacks save the kids from boredom.

Five Tips for Traveling in the Rainy Weather:
- Don’t forget to pack video games, multimedia gear, iPod and paperback books to take care of the days you’ll be happy staying in with room service and in house entertainment.
- Check out public transport. It is not only cheap in such places but also the most reliable. Local nature walks are offered in a number of places, with guides really worth every penny they charge to take you across picturesque locales.
- Research well and take a shot at the local language; also check on the museums and cultural exhibits near the hotel and activities for toddlers. These activities could really save a rainy day.

- The camera is a must on this holiday. Make sure that your reserves on film and battery are well stocked.  Ensure that the children and elderly family members have a copy of the hotel brochure just in case sight seeing takes you separate ways. Also, speaking of hotels, do check on package deals and add-ons that are given to make up for the lean period.

The rainy weather ushers in the scent of the ‘quenched’ soil and a new tinge of green to every leaf. A holiday in this season is like a trip to paradise, especially when you dare the outdoors. Try not to confine yourselves to the room when there is a light drizzle. If the signs are a dry spell thereafter, have the hotel pack you a picnic lunch!
